Brake fluid level
This should be checked frequently, and immediately if you notice even the slightest
loss in braking efficiency.
The level is checked while the vehicle is on flat ground and the ignition is off.
Level 5
It is normal for the level to drop as the brake shoes become worn, but it must never
drop lower than the "MINI" warning line.
If you wish to check the disc and drum wear yourself, you should obtain the document
explaining the checking procedure from the manufacturer’s network or web site.
Topping up
After any operation on the hydraulic circuit, a specialist must replace the fluid.
Only use fluids approved by our Technical Department (and taken from a sealed container).
Replacement intervals
Refer to the maintenance document for your vehicle.
Tip
If there is an abnormal or repeated drop in the fluid level, consult an approved dealer.
WARNING
Before carrying out any action in the engine compartment, you must switch off the
ignition IGNITION-STARTER SWITCH ON A VEHICLE WITH KEY. or IGNITION-STARTER SWITCH ON A VEHICLE WITH CARD.
WARNING
When working in the engine compartment, ensure that the windscreen wiper stalk is
in the park position.

When working close to the combustion engine, be aware that it may be hot.
The engine cooling fan may also start at any moment.

Windscreen washer reservoir
Topping up
With the ignition switched off, open the cap 6.
Fill until you can see the fluid, then replace the cap.
Note: check the reservoir level regularly and top up the fluid before going on a trip.
Fluid
Only use windscreen washer fluid containing antifreeze.
We advise you to consult an approved dealer or a qualified professional.
Note: do not use hard water (risk of damage to the priming pump or limescale building up
on the pump and the jets).
Jets
To adjust the height of the windscreen washer jets, please consult an authorised dealer.

Filters
The replacement of filter elements (air filter, cabin filter, diesel filter etc.)
is scheduled in the maintenance operations for your vehicle.
