REAR LIGHTS AND SIDE LIGHTS: replacing the bulbs

Five-door version

Side lights/brake and direction indicator lights

Open the boot lid and remove screws 1.

To release the light unit, start by moving the exterior edge away to a sufficient extent (movement A) to release clip 3, then pull the light unit backwards (movement B).

Remove the bulb holder by carefully releasing clips 4, lightly raise the bulb holder and then release clip 2.

Change the bulb.

Refit the bulb holder and push the unit in fully until it locks in place.

Check that the light is properly locked in position.

Tighten screws 1.

5 Side light and brake light

Bulb type: P21/5W.

6 Direction indicator lights

Bulb type: PY21W.

The bulbs are under pressure and can break when replaced.

Risk of injury.

To comply with current legislation, or as a precaution, you can obtain an emergency kit from your approved dealer containing a set of spare bulbs and fuses.

Five-door version

Consult an approved dealer

Direction indicator lights

Open the boot lid and remove screws 7.

To release the light unit, start by moving it away towards the outside (movement A) enough to release the clips 9, then pull the light unit backwards (movement B).

Change the bulb.

Check that the light is properly locked in position.

Tighten screws 1.

10 Direction indicator lights

Bulb type: PY21W.

The bulbs are under pressure and can break when replaced.

Risk of injury.

To comply with current legislation, or as a precaution, you can obtain an emergency kit from your approved dealer containing a set of spare bulbs and fuses.

Estate version

Side lights/brake and direction indicator lights

Unclip the cover to access nut 11.

Unscrew nut 5.

Undo screws 12.

Pull the light unit backwards (movement C).

Remove the bulb holder by carefully releasing clips 13, and gently pull the bulb holder.

Change the bulb.

Refit the bulb holder and push the unit as far as it will go, until it locks into place.

Check that the light is properly locked in position.

Tighten the screw 12 and nut 11.

Clip the cover in place.

14 Side light and brake light

Bulb type: P21/5W.

15 Direction indicator lights

Bulb type: PY21W.

Five door and estate versions

Fog lights and reversing lights 16

Open the boot lid.

Unclip cover 17 and remove it.

Turn bulb holder 18 fully anticlockwise and change the bulb.

To reassemble, proceed in the reverse order to removal.

When the bulb has been changed, make sure you refit cover 17 correctly.

Reversing light

Type of bulb: H21W.

Rear fog light

Type of bulb: H21W.

Fog lights 19 and reversing lights 20

(depending on vehicle)

Open the boot lid.

Note: depending on the vehicle, the reversing and fog lights are inverted.

Unclip cover 21 and remove it.

Turn bulb holder 22 fully anticlockwise and change the bulb.

To reassemble, proceed in the reverse order to removal.

When the bulb has been changed, make sure you refit cover 21 correctly.

Reversing light

Type of bulb: H21W.

Rear fog light

Type of bulb: H21W.

High level brake light 23

Consult an approved dealer.

Number plate lights 24

- Unclip the light by pressing tab 25;

- remove the light cover to gain access to the bulb.

Bulb type: W5W.

Side repeaters with bulbs 26

- Unclip the repeater 26 (using a flat-blade screwdriver type tool positioned at D to tilt the repeater towards the front of the vehicle);

- turn the bulb holder a quarter of a turn and take out the bulb.

Bulb type: WY5W.

LED side repeaters

(depending on vehicle)

Consult an approved dealer.

The bulbs are under pressure and can break when replaced.

Risk of injury.
